The links to the left lead to a collection of resources that club members have found useful, as well as projects that we are planning to improve the quality of the hiking experience in Interior Alaska. FAHC isn't in the business of endorsing anything or anyone, but we're happy to share good experiences we've had with Web sites, companies, books, and, most certainly, worthwhile hikes.
Please let us know what you think, and what additions we should make here.
In addition, here are a couple of hiking guides you might find useful.
Best Easy Day Hikes Fairbanks, by Montana Hodges, from Falcon Press. ISBN 0762751053 Released May 2009..
Ruth McHenry of the Copper Country Alliance in Copper Center put together a list of hikes from the Denali Highway. If you find it useful, she would appreciate getting photos of wildlife and of people hiking, camping, picking berries, etc. And if you see a drill rig in the area, please photograph it and note place, date, and any disturbance it or other mining exploration activities cause. She is monitoring such activities in the area. Hiking guide: [Word] [PDF]
